Annotazione
Arcangel Legrand - Brotherswagg (birth name: Robert Dieudelin) is a Haitian rapper and music producer, active since 2008. He gained national recognition in 2017 after releasing a rap project dedicated to mothers.
Biography
He was born in 1999 in Limonade, Cap-Haïtien, Nord Department, Haiti. He is the son of Robert Ruel and Mombrun Estelia, a respected couple in northern Haiti.
He comes from a large, religious family of nine children, seven of whom have survived as of 2026. He attended several primary and secondary schools, with the most notable being the John Wesley school in Cap-Haïtien.
Early career and musical training
Robert Dieudelin began his musical career at age nine (2008) under the stage name Atis Tiretay, influenced by Haitian hip-hop and Rap Kreyòl.
In 2011, when he was 12 or 13 years old, he changed his stage name to Akanj Legran and joined other young people from his neighborhood to form the group Brotherswagg. Made up of teenagers between 11 and 15 years old, the collective became a reference for the hip hop movement in northern Haiti despite limited resources. Its members practiced improvisation (freestyle) and participated in various local activities.
Comedy theater experience (2014)
In 2014, Akanj Legran continued his career as a solo artist after Brotherswagg disbanded due to lack of resources and internal disagreements over leadership.
That year, he had a key experience that marked his career and adolescence: he was one of five young actors selected to perform in a comedy theater show organized by Haitian authorities at a prison in Cap-Haïtien. There he demonstrated his potential and gained recognition throughout the Nord department.
Professional career launch (2017)
In 2017, Akanj Legran adopted his current stage name, Arcangel Legrand - Brotherswagg, and launched his professional career. He earned his first national recognition with his rap single *Manman Padone Mwen* (2017), a project dedicated to Mother's Day, produced by DJs DjFortyfive and FenoProducer. Although it did not achieve commercial success, its deep, emotional lyrics resonated with the community.
The same year, he founded his own record label, Brotherswagg Studio Records, under which he released his first hip-hop and rap album, *You Didn't Really*—the work that established him as an artist. The project featured collaborations with several prominent artists, including:
* Cocolo-RD
* Bedeline Dalfils
* Natacha Love
* BICKSON-G and LOUCO PROBLEM
* DjFortyfive and FenoProducer (producers)
